Dr. Cleaner Elite - Disk, Memory, System Optimizer App Reviews

Everything

The new appearance and layout for the general app is a major improvement except… The app is way laggier than the plain old Dr.Cleaner (Which I’ve gone back to) and when I click “Optimize” It does anything but. It freezes my computer, crashes my computer or the app crashes… Please fix. (On a Mid 2012 Macbook pro Non-Retina with 4 GB or ram)

Doctor’s not...

Awesome product for Mac!!!

great from what I’ve seen so-far BUT

Great from what I’ve seen so-far BUT what is the difference (in operation) between the Normal DR. CLEANER and the new DR. CLEANER ELITE????????? Both seem to do exactly the same and respond exactly the same???? Elite just looks a little better????? Why should I change from Dr. Cleaner to the Elite????? just being pretty doesn’t cut it…….

Great product!

Lovely UI, easy to use and it cleans my mac well. Great app! Only one thing need the improvements. In Junk Files section, the total amount of free space on mac doesn’t sync automatically. It refreshes the free space after the apple device is restarted. I’m not so often restart my mac, so I don’t know the real amount of free space on my mac unless it will be restarted.

Till this

Till this moment, I never had any free memory cleaner wapp hich works minimum good as this one! Big Up!

Great Design but Inaccurate Display in menu bar

Overall, I like this app, especially because of the great style and minialist design. But there is one hitch. The number of GB of RAM used shown in the menu bar is very often completely different to the number shown in the green, liquid-filled circle (when I click the icon in the menu bar). This is very annoying and ruins the whole experience which I otherwise enjoy. One thing I would like to point out is that this did not happen when I was using Dr. Cleaner (Not Elite) and the number in the menu bar updated quickly and was always the same as the one shown in the menu. Please fix this, Trend Micro, because I might have to switch back to the original Dr. Cleaner because of this annoying bug.

Good light application to clean up your Mac

This application is good for clearning the RAM with junks and quick deletion of trash in recycle bin. This application can also scan for duplicate files spot on. While it doesn’t remove the files, I can manually verify and remove those duplicate files myself. Many similar applications are available at higher costs but this one is free. This is a must if your laptop is getting old and slow and you can’t or don’t want to upgrade the RAM.

Good, but won’t drop messages until you try out features

Every once in a while it’ll pop a little orange or red danger looking icon into your toolbar. You’ll be instructed to try out the duplicate scanner or some other feature and it won’t go away until you do. Other than that, it’s a good replacement for the normal Dr. Cleaner. Shame they updated it, instead of just replacing. Now I have to keep the old one for the uninstall feature, and always have the 1 update hanging for it. Update 3.0.5. Mac runs a bit cooler now, but still keep getting messages to try out other apps and features. I’ll stick with the old Dr. Cleaner till they add a way to dismiss these messages. Update, they completely ruined the old Dr. Cleaner. It’s a direct copy and paste of this crap app, down to the bugs and advertisments. Dr. Cleaner Elite, and Dr. Cleaner are now the very same app. Both will change color and display an error notification in the toolbar. When you open the app to see the “problem” you find the only solution is to open their advertisment. There is no “no thanks” button or an X to click to make up your mind. The app is stuck like that until you open their ad or software or whatever they are peddling. Both apps also share the bug of displaying different amounts of available RAM in the toolbar vs. within the app. You can open and close it all you want, clean the RAM over and over, the number will just never match up. They are so lazy they copied this bug over into the normal Dr. Cleaner when they ruined it. TLDR: Dr. Cleaner and Dr. Cleaner Elite both useless and ruined now.

Absolutely PERFECT!

I was very skeptical about this app before trying it because Ive used a hundred so-called "system optimization" apps. They almost always include constant ads, spyware, adware, as well as the fact that they consistantly use more system resources than they reclaim. Dr. Cleaner is the polar opposite of any of those. It works amazingly and constantly keeps my memory clean and optimized and my hard disks free of junk and temp files. Id recommend this app to anyone, and I plan to buy the full version of it as soon as possible (and the free version has full functionality of almost all the paid features). Great app! A++++

Elite?

I’m not sure how this is Elite when it’s identical to the regular Dr Cleaner app.

Works Fine. Annoying Advertisements.

The app works wonderfully, and I find it usefull. The only problem is, the menu icon will turn orange indicating an alert, when clicked it asks you to try duplicate scanner and will not go away, and the orange alert remains, until you use their other product. Useful app, but annoying advertisements.

Fantastic Optimization Application

I’ve just had this installed for a few days but am very pleased with it. It has a few aspects such as duplicate file finder, cleaning junk files and optimizing memory. The junk file cleaner is fairly well done in comparison to my previous experience with such attempts. The Optimize Memory function works great. Just click the button and in a few moments a lot of memory will be freed up. It also does a great job reclaiming excess memory when you close an application. It is also handy having it in the menu bar to quickly be able to see how much memory is being utilized.

Don’t leave this thing running

WARNING: Don’t leave this app running in the background. It seems to delete lots of cache files that keep your mac running smoothly. As an example, I’ve had countless Finder lock-ups that just seem to stop happening when this app is no longer running.

Dr Cleaner Elite App

Simple Clean App for clearing Junk files and optimizing RAM. CPU & Network Usage status are Bonus. Highly Recommended.

Best Cleaning App Ever

I have been using Dr. Cleaner and Now Dr. Cleaner Elite for well over a year. I can honestly say that it’s the best cleaning and CPU monitoring app that I’ve ever used to date. When I had to replace my mac and I realized it wasn’t installed yet I realized that I don’t know what I would do without it now! Props to the crew at Trend Micro for building such a great app and for keeping it free! My philosophy; If you find an app and/or software that you really love and it remains free to use-try to donate from time to time to show your appreciation and to ensure that it stays around for the long term! I already have, and will continue to recommend this app to others. Heather in Carmichael, CA

Best Cleaning App

Simple - reliable - easy to use. Kudos for the Trend team for keeping this App free. HIghest recommendation.

So far, seems to be really good!

I have used it once and I have nothing negative to say. It detailed what it was erasing and is easy to use. Also, my computer seemed to react pretty well to it.

Simple, Quality, Free.

Worked perfectly. Easy to use from time to time. Found things from 2012 I thought I had completely deleted. Great App

Great apps, confusing names

Dr. Cleaner Dr. Cleaner Elite Dr. Cleaner Pro If I got this right, Dr. Cleaner is the free version, but it is listed under a different App Store account from the rest. Dr. Cleaner Elite is also free, and sounds like it should be superior to Dr. Cleaner Pro, but Dr. Cleaner Pro is actually the fully-featured paid version. What’s more, all of these apps seem to include at least some feature overlap with your other more targeted paid apps. Please make the App Store descriptions clearer, help me understand what all the various versions include and how they differ. For instance, its fairly common to see free apps list additional features included in the "pro” version. And instead of offering an additional “Elite” (aka. “beta”) version in the app store, why not adopt the de facto “include beta versions” checkbox in the auto-update preferences? Still deserving of five stars. After some head scratching, the apps look great and work quite well. Posting this under the “beta” version on purpose, like an App Store bug report. Thanks!

damaged my Safari

The app seemed to be ok, nevertheless after Deep Cleanup it harmed the browser removing all my bookmarks. why did it do that?
